Pressure Cooker Which Stars Need To Perform To Keep Their Jobs

Western Conference NBA Players on the Hot Seat in 2024-25

Pressure Cooker: Which stars need to perform to keep their jobs?

The 2023-24 NBA season is winding down, and the pressure is mounting for some of the league's biggest stars. With several teams facing uncertain futures, a number of players are on the hot seat heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

Here are some of the Western Conference players who need to perform well in order to keep their jobs:

  • Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers: Davis has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, and he has yet to live up to the expectations that come with being the Lakers' franchise player. If he can't stay healthy and lead the Lakers to a deep playoff run in 2024-25, he could find himself on the trade block.
  • Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves: Towns is one of the most talented young players in the NBA, but he has yet to lead the Timberwolves to a playoff berth. If he can't take the next step in his development and lead the Timberwolves to the postseason in 2024-25, he could find himself traded.
  • Ben Simmons, Brooklyn Nets: Simmons was acquired by the Nets in a blockbuster trade in February 2022, but he has yet to live up to expectations. If he can't improve his shooting and become a more consistent player, he could find himself on the trade block again.

These are just a few of the Western Conference players who are on the hot seat heading into the 2024-25 season. If they can't perform well, they could find themselves out of a job.
