Lars Nootbaar and Masyn Winn each drove in two runs for the Cardinals.

Nootbaar's two-run double in the fifth inning gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.

Winn's two-run single in the eighth inning extended the Cardinals' lead to 5-1.

Dakota Hudson pitched seven strong innings in his second start of the season for the Cardinals.

Hudson allowed only two runs on five hits and two walks.

He struck out five batters.

The win was the Cardinals' third straight and pushed them back to .500 (50-50) for the first time since June 23.

It was also the Cardinals' first three-game winning streak in two months.

The loss was the Twins' third straight and dropped them to 43-57 on the season.

The Twins have lost 10 of their last 12 games.
