WEB Rockie Rabbit Sentenced for Assault
Guilty Plea and Sentencing
WEB Rockie Rabbit, age 31, was sentenced to five years and seven months in prison on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and overcoming resistance. In December 2021, Rabbit admitted to strangling an Edmonton mother and throwing her to the ground outside a downtown club.
Edmonton Judge Sentences Rabbit
Referencing the brutality of the assault, an Edmonton judge described Rabbit's actions as "frighteningly uncontrolled and brutally vicious." The sentence is a significant reduction from the original 12-year sentence imposed on Rabbit. The Alberta Court of Appeal halved the sentence in a decision released on Tuesday.
