Bergamo, Italy - Atalanta had the better of the chances but were unable to find a breakthrough as they drew 0-0 with Empoli at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts dominated possession and had 18 shots on target, but they were unable to beat Empoli goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski, who made a number of fine saves.
Atalanta had the best chance of the game in the first half when Duván Zapata hit the post from close range, but they were unable to find the net again as Empoli held on for a valuable point.
The result leaves Atalanta in fourth place in Serie A, while Empoli are 12th.
Atalanta will be looking to get back to winning ways when they travel to face Roma next weekend, while Empoli will host Torino.
